Adam Zenor

Adam Zenor focuses his practice on complex civil litigation, regulatory and white collar defense, and trial work. He has litigated all manner of cases and secured 30 trial verdicts for his clients in Iowa’s state and federal courts. Adam has also successfully litigated more than 30 appeals in Iowa’s appellate courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He is a Member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Adam is a Fellow in the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers. He served a full term on the Board of Governors for the Iowa State Bar Association. He is now serving a second full term on the Board of Governors. He is a past President of the Polk County Bar Association and is still actively involved on its Board. Adam has long been recognized by numerous professional organizations, including Best Lawyers, for his advocacy, experience, and professionalism.
In his civil practice, Adam represents individuals and businesses in wide-ranging matters including bad faith, breach of contract, construction, coverage, dram shop, employment, false claims act, fire, health law, medical malpractice, professional negligence, products and premises liability, qui tam, semi-truck collisions, serious personal injury, and wrongful death. Where appropriate, he has successfully represented his clients in motion practice — often obtaining summary disposition — or otherwise trying cases to verdict. Recent examples include:
Successfully litigating a matter at the Iowa Supreme Court, where the Court affirmed a district court’s grant of summary judgment on behalf of his client, an Iowa business owner.
Securing a directed verdict in state court on behalf of a Des Moines business owner.
Winning a jury verdict in state court on behalf of an Iowa business owner.
Winning a jury verdict in federal court on behalf of an insurer that appropriately denied claimed benefits.
In his regulatory and white collar practice, Adam focuses primarily on assisting clients with issues presented in health care and finance, he also represents clients facing challenges in a host of other industries, including agriculture, gaming, government relations, immigration, information technology, and manufacturing. Recent examples include:
Winning full acquittals in state and federal jury trials.
Winning full dismissal in a federal suit alleging constitutional violations against a state actor.
Securing full dismissal on behalf of a healthcare provider for allegations of improper medical coding.
Adam presents and publishes on legal developments across his practice areas. He regularly presents for professional organizations such as the Iowa Bar Association, the Polk County Bar Association, and the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers. For those presentations, he has most recently presented on legal ethics, examination of expert witnesses, and legal issues surrounding government investigations of corporate entities. He has published two law review articles on defamation and in various legal publications on aspects of civil law.
Adam is currently serving his second term on the Board of Governors for the Iowa Bar Association. He is a recent past president of the Polk County Bar Association and continues to serve on its Board of Governors.
