Harding Middle School Mock Trial Competes in ISBA Middle School Mock Trial Tournament

DES MOINES, Iowa (December 12, 2023) – Zenor Law Firm congratulates Harding Middle School’s Mock Trial Team for their inaugural participation and performance in the 2023 Iowa State Bar Association’s Iowa Middle School Mock Trial Tournament. This first group from Harding was impressive to take part in something their school had not before. From appreciating the concepts and procedure, to working through the trial case, and in practicing their roles and responsibilities to put on their case, their participation was equal parts challenge and reward. Coached in part by Adam Zenor and sponsored by Zenor Law, we are exceptionally proud of this team:

Throughout their preparation and ultimately at the competition, this team showed critical thinking, worked as a team, and demonstrated excellent presentation skills. We are honored to support these talented students as they participate in the Iowa State Bar Association’s Middle School Mock Trial Program and look forward to sponsoring and assisting the Harding Middle School Mock Trial Program in the years to come. 

The conclusion of the 2023 state tournament marked 40 years that Iowa has had a middle school mock trial program. The Center for Law & Civic Education at The Iowa State Bar Association sponsors the mock trial program in conjunction with the ISBA's Young Lawyers Division. A total of 160 teams from across the state participated in this year's middle school program and each team competed in multiple rounds of competition. While we are proud to grow this program, we also recognizes the many Iowa lawyers, judges, and educators who have donated their time over the years to make the program invaluable.
